HOWARD ZINN, THE TRULY OF HERO

Ø Introduction

Why always Zinn? Why he usually to be a material things on our subject? I will start by the first step, the most interesting from Zinn. What Zinn to do to world? Does it is true? What Zinn to do to the readers? What the effect from the article of Zinn? Why he unlike United States? How the way to embraced the people of Zinn?

Ø Summary

According to Zinn article’s Speaking Truth to Power with Books¹: “Books operate in many ways to change people’s consciousness. We know that scientist always number things, and since everyone wants to be scientific, they also number things.” The statement fixed that a book is get easy to change the world and became an ambitious for some people.

Zinn is a hot criticism: The first reasons, after I read his book, exactly his article hae is a real man who brave to utter that Columbus is just illusion to reveal it. He has a full confidence to tell it. The second reasons, his goal is change the appearance consideration all of people that history always invisible, not really revealed with the way happen. But actually the case is history not always true, because every single could change histories and Howard Zinn is one of it. He tried to open every eye that United States is has the despicable rules. See now, that he has power and success to compose a chance for return to the history of United States, one generation is proper in one direction on one thinking by him. It is make Zinn not stupid to relate, he can refract and realize that the readers have to known. So, what defense on the position from him?

The third reasons is because he has something new and different thinking was happen to writing world, exactly to history. How the way to get it and do that? Absolutely he just keep with a devotion to writing, just stay in the middle situation process still daze. He is never felt afraid to prove it to everyone and survive all of his passion. He brought the world and the new history to change the thinking is just so. Establish the influence to everyone who read his article; collected new generation to make a good better before.

Ø Critique

Besides that, I have three points on Columbus that are neglected in Zinn’s article. First, he was forgotten that Christopher Columbus ever is form “exploration of crown” and “colonization on new world” to be important things in a history. Columbus was opened Europe became two continents as a new house. He spread the peoples and set aside spring wealth of saltpeter and substance from earth and success changed the Europe. So, this is one things was made the some readers un-believed that Columbus is untrue.

Second is, according to Zinn’s article Speaking Truth to Power with Books¹: “My parents did not have a single book in the house, but when I was 14 years old, I discovered books. I found a book on the street …” In my opinion it is an abstract information because he did not give an evidence to brace the statement, example he add the picture of the book. Rather impossible if the family who consist from some people did not have a single book, I am as a reader regard as a something lie. Like Zinn when he said that Columbus is a liar.

Third is, I think Zinn too much to give a judgment about Columbus because some readers became a radical human. It is not good for the sociality, as I know that the radical effect is so bad to everyone. Sometimes a freedom was changed became an arrogant people and is a dangerous situation. It will be better if Zinn utter his statement to be wise, although is a true statement.

Ø Conclusion

There are two basic points that can be concluded from Zinn’s article:

1. Howard Zinn is the green fingers and the best eyesight to make an article have to change the histories on the world.

2. Zinn is just human being, so he have a mistake and carelessness when he writing exactly, always there.

On the other hand I still have a great interested to Zinn, he like man from the paradise was coming to give something important in the writing world. He grew up with an amazing thinking with the other people. He all out the opinion with a strong nutrition before it, he is a killer to kill a loser, history and knowledge could be able to combine it him I think and the results is. He unlike the rule of military or political, according to him is just make peoples so hard and gave a sickly to them. He cared about feeling who have a sickness just because they not have a big part in the world. His carry on make me melting when I read his article. He is very cool and charming when he write I think; in the fact now his article and quotes many changed mind of peoples.

I am one of the readers who fall in love with his character. The own thinking of him is a gorgeous thing and so make me interest. I don’t know how to be a author like Zinn, but actually I has a same right with him as a own history of world. Although I have differences with him and do not ha a same taste or same character it’s never mind. I believe that a good thing easier to in depth to do. I keep up with all of sense and process to walk on my way to take an action of my life, my ambitious, and my goals. My Zinn, ever on my mind you are my green eyes could be my sight so fresh. The world is need you, so I want to be someone like you to waive untrue on the history of world with the beautiful words and different thinking as much as I have.
