Truth Of The History

INTRODUCTION
This paper discuss about a critical on Howard
Zinn’s article that entitled “Speaking Truth to Power with Books”. The article tell about a
truth that should be in a book. The book which is written by an author will
affect readers. The
perspective or mindset of
someone will change as the book.
In this article, Zinn argue that
Columbus is not inventor of America continent. Columbus is the person who murderer, torturer, kidnapper,
mutilator natives, hypocritical, so that he does not deserve to
be called a hero of America
People.
SUMMARY
There are several basic points that Zinn
wrote on Colombus, whom we ridicolusly percieve as as the discoverer of
America. First, Zinn
told that Christopher
Colombus was not the inventor of the
America continent. Columbus was
a murderer, torturer, kidnapper, mutilator natives,
hypocritical. Columbus as agents of conquest with
a lust looked for gold and other
resources that also have the desire to torture and kill people to
achieve these goals. This thing
caused Howard Zinn was opposed by the American people and was considered the
destroyer of the younger generation because of the book “A History of the United State people” that he wrote.
Although Americans assumed that Columbus
was the inventor of the America inventor
and a pious
reader of Alkitab. Even there was a
special day called
“Columbus Day” as a memorial of his services as discoverer of the
America continent.
Second, the main reason of Columbus and the colonists discovered
a new world was looking
for financial gain. According to Zinn, Columbus and
those explorers who followed him to the New World did so for essentially one
overriding reason: finansial gain. Behind the English invansion of North America,
behind their massacre of Indians, their deception, brutality, was that special
powerful drive born in civilizations based on private profit.

BODY
There are three points on Colombus that are
neglected in Zinn’s article. First, Zinn was not mention the actual
inventor of the America continent are Muslims. According to historian and
geographer Abul Hassan Ali Ibn al-Hussain al-Masudi (871-957M), in his book
Adh-Dhahabwa Muruj Maad al-Jawhar (The Meadows of Gold and Quarries of Jewels),
he wrote that Khaskhas Sa'ied Ibn Aswad, a Muslim explorers from Cordova,
Spain, successfully reached the American continent in the 889M. Al-Masudi
explained, during the reign of Caliph Abdullah Ibn Muhammad (888-912M) in
Andalusia, sailed from Port Delbra Khaskhas (Palos) in 889, crossed the
Atlantic to reach a foreign country (al-ard majhul). Upon his return from the
foreign continent, he took home the amazing items, which allegedly came from a
new continent then named America.
History
also notes that Admiral Ceng Ho (a Muslim preacher), also landed in the
Americas. He landed 70 years earlier than Columbus. Even Ceng Ho’s fleet and
ships was larger than Columbus' ships belonging. Cheng Ho had arabic names,
namely Haji Mahmud Shams. He was a Chinese Muslim who was born in 1371 and died
in 1433. Famous as the famous Chinese mariner and explorer who do some
exploration between 1405-1433.
In
a note of Columbus on October 21st 1492, he saw a mosque in the
voyage between Gibara and the Cuban Coast. It shows that Columbus also admitted
that there are already a number of people in America who converted to Islam,
before his arrival. Columbus was surprised to find like building he had seen
before when it landed in Africa. The imposing building is a mosque used by the
people of Islam to worship.
Second,
Zinn not to mention the actual intentions of Columbus go to India. India has a very
advanced technology and has nuclear weapons at the time a fairly old-fashioned,
the year 3000 B.C. It can be seen from the story of Mahabharata of ancient
India who met a mysterious secription sound like an atomic blast. One piece of
evidence that is never clarified as areas affected by nuclear radiation in the
valley of the Indus river, where the city of Harappa and Mohenjo Daro was once
the town developed around the year 3000 B.C.. Archaeologists Gorbovsky
claimed invention is at least explain human skeleton exposed to radioactivity,
about 50 times larger than it should be (in the natural radiation level). Then
thousands of blackened stone and blends are found in Mohenjo Daro. This
explains the presence of clay fragments were melted together at very high heat.
The story of
Mahabharata is indirect evidence that at that time in India has no nuclear
weapons. Legend of story of Mahabharata clearly states in their text:

All the foodstuffs
infected ...

from this fire

themselves into the

To wash themselves and their
equipment.
Text of
Mahabharata story clearly illustrates the using of nuclear energy is used in a great battle. There
is historical evidence that
explains so even depictions
of weapons in the form of (similar) or spear
round object with the power of the sun, but obviously
very similar to the effects of nuclear weapons.
Third,
this article is
too discredit Columbus. Columbus is cruel
person. Columbus is not person who arrive in America. However,
we also have to
try to look him from
the other side. Of the voyage, after
he emerged that
conducted expeditions to the new world
and began a period
of conquest colonization of
new territories. Columbus was the first to build a world civilization and
bring about change there, which changed the face of the old into the new.
When Columbus came
to the west, it
coincided with the
Indians destroyed. In the long
run that discovery gave birth to
a new nation
in the western hemisphere
continents. Columbus brought major changes to the nations of the Old World and New
World creates.
CONCLUSION
The basic points that can be concluded from
Zinn’s article is Columbus
was not the inventor of the Americas. Columbus
was the perpetrator of genocide,
killers, torturers, kidnappers. According to Zinn, he is an agent of
conquest with a lust
for gold and
other resources that also have the desire to
torture and kill others to achieve these
goals. Discoverer of the actual
America continent are Muslims. According
to historian and geographer Abul Hassan
Ali Ibn al-Hussain al-Masudi,
